Case Study: What Happened When 100 Mimecast Employees Took on the Game Show
Mimecast booked us to run a live game show for 100 of their London-based staff. They had people flying in, teams that had never met in person, and one clear goal. They wanted something that actually brought people together.
Not a sit-down dinner.
Not another icebreaker.
Something people would remember.
Here’s how it went.
The Client: Mimecast
Mimecast is a global cybersecurity company with a hybrid workforce. Their London team had just wrapped up a big project. They wanted to celebrate with an experience that included everyone, kept energy high and gave people a reason to talk to someone new.
The brief was simple
Nothing awkward. Nothing cheesy.
Something fun that worked across departments and seniority.
The Setup
We brought
• Podiums
• Buzzers
• Speakers
• Game music
• Visuals on-screen
• A gold suit
• A host who knows how to take control of a room
The space was one of their larger meeting rooms. We moved the furniture, set up the studio, and got ready to run a show that felt more like television than team-building.
The Format
We gave them a 90-minute show packed with
• Team buzzer rounds
• Quickfire trivia
• Custom questions themed around Mimecast
• Ridiculous bonus games
• A final round that got very loud
We split the 100 guests into eight teams. Every table was involved. No silent observers. No standing at the edge of the room. Everyone played.
Even the head of sales got taken out by a junior developer in the buzzer round.
The Feedback
By the end, people were standing, shouting, laughing and completely locked in. The quietest teams suddenly cared more than anyone. People who had never spoken were high-fiving across the table.
A few things we overheard
• “That was actually brilliant”
• “I thought I was going to hate it but I loved it”
• “Can we do this for the Christmas party?”
• “This was the best thing we’ve done all year”
Why It Worked
• It was hosted live with real structure
• Everyone could take part without pressure
• The rounds were built for maximum interaction
• It moved quickly and never dragged
• It felt like a real show, not a workshop
Would It Work for Your Team?
Yes. If you’ve got 20 people or 120, we bring the same energy, format and gear.
You just bring your team and a space big enough to hold them.
This is not a quiz.
This is not a team-building tool pretending to be fun.
This is a real event that gets people involved from the start.
